About

I recognize the need to be able to build up a trusting relationship with you and believe I have the personal qualities required to allow this to take place. I possess a natural warmth and acceptance towards each person I meet with, which will allow you to feel safe and ensure you feel as comfortable as possible to be able to share your troubling issues with me.

I am a qualified counsellor, having gained both my Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling and in addition to this, I have achieved my Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I am also a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and endeavour to abide by their ethical framework and moral principles.

I have had the valuable experience of working in a voluntary counselling agency for two years and have also worked - on placement- in the NHS, counselling in a busy GP practice for one year. This was offering ‘brief therapy’ and allowed me to expand on my counselling skills as I made the transition from working in a largely person-centred way, to a more solution-focused way of working, more suited to short-term counselling. I believe this shows my ability to adapt my approach to your individual needs.
